Is Exit Realty A Good Company To Work For?

In your search to find a sponsoring broker, you may find yourself asking if Exit Realty is a good company to work for.

It’s a legitimate question and one worth asking. Finding the right broker is critical to your success as a real estate agent, especially for those who are new to real estate.

In this article, we’re going to talk about what makes Exit Realty a great company to work for and bust a few common myths that some agents have while evaluating Exit Realty.

This article will be written mostly from the perspective of new agents or those with less than five years of experience. However, even well-seasoned and experienced real estate agents will see benefits when they join Exit Realty.

How Do We Define Good?

Before I dive into the things that make Exit Realty great, I need to set the record straight. I believe that every single real estate company — from Keller-Williams, to eXp, to Century 21, to every broker in between — has an amazing service that can create substantial value to its real estate agents.

So, these kinds of questions about which real estate brokerage is best or good should be thought of as, “which real estate brokerage is good for YOU?”

Is if Exit Realty good for YOU?

That’s going to look different for every real estate agent out there. While I can’t tell you if Exit Realty is a good company for you, I can say that Exit is a good company to work for.

I can also share with you some of the top reasons thousands of real estate agents around the world call Exit Realty their home and believe it’s the BEST brokerage to work for.

There Is A Human Focus

Exit Realty focuses on the human behind the job title. That can’t be said for most other real estate brokerages out there.

At Exit, it’s not about being a real estate agent, but rather, a human being. YOU matter deeply to the company. Not your production. Not your desk fees. Not you being just another number.

Most brokerages that are part of Exit want to see their agents succeed in their career AND their personal life.

Real estate agent, Andrea, shares this sentiment on her Exit Review that he left on AgentAdvice. She writes,

“If you are looking for a real estate company that is focused on your success, that teaches you how to earn multiple income streams through real estate and will stand by you through anything personal or professional, then EXIT Realty should be top of your list to interview.”

There’s a lot more to their training than just how to get a listing. Yes, they offer these topics, but their training goes deeper. It includes a focus on things like goal setting (professional and personal), mindset training, finding your big why, or creating a vision board.

Exit Realty believes that agent success starts with strengthening the human behind the job title. Few companies are like this, and this focus sets Exit apart.

A Culture Of Caring

Related to their focus on the human, they also have a culture of caring. This can easily be seen through their Spirit of Exit program, but it goes deeper than that.

The Spirit of Exit is a program whereby a portion of every agents’ earnings benefit the communities they serve. A portion of every transaction is applied to a charitable fund. To date, Exit Realty International has pledged $5.5 million to charity.

That’s a lot for a small company. Exit Realty shares hundreds of stories of local brokerages giving back to their communities in HUGE ways.

Spirit Of Exit Giving

But, their caring attitude isn’t just at the top-level. This culture permeates all of the way down to local brokerages. I mean, look at the stories Exit publishes. These are local brokerages making impacts in the communities they serve.

It can also be seen by Exit’s $50 million investment that was made into the well-being and care of their real estate agents during the pandemic. I worked at Century 21 at the start of the Covid pandemic and I can say they didn’t make that kind of investment in their agents like Exit.

Personal Training

Every company makes training a focus. So, you will find that almost every real estate brokerage claims to have the best training. I want to focus on the kind of training that sets Exit Realty apart from other companies.

First, Exit Realty’s training is free. Contrast with a lot of training opportunities at companies like Keller-Williams. Yes, there is some free training, but Keller-Williams pushes a lot of it’s training at a cost to the agent.

At Exit Realty, you have access to free training. You can access several training options online through weekly training webinars, as well as through their team dedicated to training new real estate agents.

Training videos cover a wide variety of topics — from marketing, to negotiations, and everything in between.

Exit Realty also offers their MIND-SET training program, which has a lot to offer. Some of the best top producers in the industry teach these courses.

The biggest differentiator at Exit Realty is their personal hands-on training that often happens. Many offer online training, but few offer the personal training at the brokerage level that Exit does.

You can talk to hundreds of agents at Exit Realty and they will all speak to the support and training they received from their brokerages. Read reviews of other brokerages and you hear words like lost, overwhelmed, alone, and frustrated.

At Exit, you get reviews from agents that say things like:

“The training and willingness to help whenever needed. All the great resources we have to be successful.”

Or

EXIT Realty is a true agent centric brokerage. Everything that EXIT does is the improve their agent’s professionalism and ability to increase their income.

There is nothing I can think of that EXIT Realty is not already doing for it’s agents.

Additional Income Streams

Traditionally, most real estate agents only earned an income when they bought and sold a home. Then, in 1996 along came disruptive companies like Exit Realty.

Exit Realty gives real estate agents an opportunity to create income beyond helping clients buy and sell homes. You can now earn residual income when you sponsor new agents into the company.

This program is called the Exit Formula. It works like this:

Earn 10 percent of a sponsored agent’s gross commission income, up to $10,000 a year. Say, you sponsored agent Allen into the company. Allen sells eight homes and produces a GCI of $16,000 his first year. You would receive $1,600 from Exit Realty International for sponsoring Allen into the company.

A common question we get at this point is if Exit Realty is a pyramid scheme? We’d say no.

But, the additional income stream gets better because it offers agents a retirement plan. You see, if an agent decides to retire, they are still eligible for 5 percent of gross commission income.

Most real estate agents don’t have a retirement plan and end up working until they’re in their 70’s. As a real estate agent, we don’t have retirement plans unless we go through the work of managing and setting up our own.

The Exit formula can be a great way to add income into your retirement.

Myth: Exit Is Too Small

Okay, now that we talked about why people love Exit, I want to talk about the biggest objection I get from people considering Exit Realty.

Many people hear all of the good things about Exit, but then say, “but, it’s too small.”

When they say this, they’re often comparing it to companies like Keller-Williams, Century 21 or Coldwell Banker. Each of these companies are quite large and have a lot of agents.

The people that are concerned about Exit’s size are often making the assumption that agent count must mean that bigger companies are better for agents.

In argumentation theory, this is referred to as argumentum ad populum, whereby people believe that something is better simply because the majority thinks so.

What Exit Realty lacks in size, they make up for personal attention to their agents. At the end of the day, that’s what matters more and is going to help YOU more.

Who cares if a company has the most agents? Do you just want to be another agent? Or, do you want the personal attention and training that will allow you to have a career in real estate and succeed?

I would think the latter is more important. Being part of a large company just means there is more opportunity for you to get lost and be just a number.

Don’t be just another number. Join Exit.
